- In detail
In 2010, bud break in the Pinot Noir Blocks occurred March 20-23. Bloom was complete by May 30th. Harvest was September 9-23, with a yield of less than 2 tons per acre. Alcoholic fermentation was completed in approximately one week using natural yeasts. At dryness, the wine was pressed and put into 2 and 3 year old barrels for malolactic fermentation and aged for 11 months.
Brilliant pale ruby color and immediate pretty Pinot Noir aromas. Aromas are floral, smoky and reflective of our unique "transitional" climate zone between Carneros and the rest of Napa Valley. Balanced palate coverage and round cherry and light berry flavors. Very fine tannins. The minimal oak is subtle and integrated, adding an additional layer of complexity. Great value!
